Simple Honey Nut Clusters
These honey nut clusters are the most perfect and easy sweet treat! I will admit that I have a slight unhealthy relationships with sweets and when you add honey and toasted nuts to any recipe, it really does make for the perfect combination of ingredients! These little honey clusters are the easiest recipe and quite the revelation! This recipe is perfect if you are short on time and need to bring a treat to a party or just want something sweet on hand. They take 5 minutes to make and less then 10 minutes to bake off and then you are left with perfect little bites of honeyed-nuts topped with a sprinkle of sea salt. Since I’ve never been able to kick my sweet cravings, I’ve found so much fun in creating recipes that are just as delicious as they are healthy! There are only toasted nuts, sweet honey and sea salt in this recipe – so ridiculously simple and delicious!
I fell in love with honey during my Bee Keeping course back in university. Honey is an incredible gold syrup that has endless functions! It is a wonderful natural sweetener for any meal, is loaded with antioxidents that combat free-radicals - which can cause disease and illness, and is used as a natural remedy to treat the flu, sore throats, and wounds. Honey is a fantastic food and can also be used as a face mask, along with oatmeal, to sooth and calm the skin. It is both healing for the inside and out!
Serves: 12 clusters
Prep Time: 5 minutes | Cook Time: 8 minutes
Ingredients for the Honey and Nut Clusters:
- ½ cup almonds
- ½ cup walnuts
- ½ cup pecans
- 4 tablespoons honey
- sprinkle of sea salt
Start by preheating your oven to 350F. Roughly chop all the nuts (or any nut you would like) and place them into a mixing bowl along with the honey and a sprinkle of sea salt. Once all the nuts have been mixed well and coated with the honey, place a small amount of the mixture into a lined cupcake-baking tray. Sprinkle each cluster with a little extra sea salt and bake for 8 minutes until the honey melts. Once it’s done, let the clusters cool in the fridge for 10 minutes. Don’t let it cool in the freezer as the honey will stick to the bottom of the lined baking tray – I did this! Now enjoy :)
